Nice videocard deal!

I was looking for some deals and then I found this:

For ppl who are looking for a very good deal. This is surely recommendable! I think i am going to get one myself and run Crossfire.

nice find exso...in germany it´s even cheaper - 109 € is a really good price for that card !
2 of them in crossfire mode would be pretty powerful....mmmh - maybe i´m gonna get it.

They'll run great in Crossfire. The DirectX 11 generation of cards give you on average around 80-85% gain through having a card in crossfire\sli.

Example being 2 x GTX 460's, in SLI, give the same performance as a GTX 580, whilst saving money at the same time. Crossfire\SLI have come of age.

You´re mobo has to support Cf with a sufficent bandwith. I´ll first need to get a new mobo. But i´ll give it a try when i have all the money together.

My mobo is a ASUS P5Q Pro with 2 x PCI-E x16...but the second slot just supports 8 lanes.
How much would the performance shrink ??? What do you reckon "master of hardware" ??? Very Happy

There's not much of a difference between 8x and 16x. As long as it isnt 4x you'll be fine. There may be 4 fps less than with 16x when you have PCI-E 2.0

Not sure if that's a good deal though. Here in Holland for that price i think 86 pound is like 110 euro?
You can get here a Sapphire ATI Radeon 5850 Extreme.

Ah ok i understand. But you don't really need the same cards, you can make 2 different ati cards work together.

Exso's right, the performance won't be that much different due to the 8x.

What do you mean? That it will run 8x/8x in crossfire? But it's not that big of a differents between 16x/16x,
if that's what you're saying. It's 5-10% faster then 8x/8x so you won't notice much.

But it's he's choice, if i could get a faster/slightly faster card for the same money i would do it lol Razz

i got 2 HD5850 Extreme cheers

unfortunatelly it came without the crossfire bridge Evil or Very Mad

i hopefully get it tomorrow and will try the crossfire mode as soon as possible.
I´ve installed one card already - this card alone is even more powerful than my old GTX 260 + Very Happy

Runs great here mate, even with super-sample AA i get 60fps steady.
